New motorcycle accessories have been used to enhance the new range of Ducati motorcycles, the manufacturer claims.

Unveiling the 2011 range at the Cologne INTERMOT show, Ducati explains that new features such as 43mm forks and higher handlebars will improve the riding experience for those selecting a bike from the updated Monster Range.

The Italian marque is also releasing a new superbike, as the 1198 gets a makeover with Ohlins TTX rear suspension, a slipper clutch and an aluminium fuel tank.

In addition to new bikes, Ducati is using the Cologne event to debut its new range of motorcycle clothing.

"We decided to consolidate our presence here in Cologne because we believe in the importance of this exhibition event, which opens the European motor show season," explained Ducati Motor Holding president Gabriele Del Torchio.

The Italian manufacturer recently announced that sales of its bikes rose by 80 per cent in August, compared to the same month in 2009.
