The Castrol Honda World Superbike team has had to put up with another frustrating day of motorcycle parts testing in Portugal.

Two days testing in Aragon, Spain earlier this month were ruined when unusually cold weather made the track treacherous and only 30 laps could be run.

Castrol Honda were therefore hoping to do some serious testing of motorcycle parts, including their Ohlins suspension systems, at the Portimao circuit in Portugal late last week.

However, riders Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus were only able to put on their motorcycle leathers and ride for the last of the three days at the circuit, again thanks to bad weather.

"We had some new things to try and, to be honest, I think we got two sessions, but we were pretty much at the sharp end in both of them," said Rea.

The Castrol Honda team took over the Japanese manufacturer's interest in the World Superbike Series from ten Kate Racing.
