With three months left until the first round of the 2011 Ducati 848 Challenge, 22 riders have already agreed to put on their motorcycle leathers and compete.

Ducati is certain that this is proof that the 848 model and its Ohlins suspension systems have captured the imagination of the racing community.

P&H Motorcycles has entered a machine for the series, with former P&H technician Clint DeTarnowsky riding the major UK tracks on the schedule, as well as the famous European circuits at Monza and Assen.

Series coordinator Jason Boswell said he has been delighted by the response from riders across the racing world.

"The commitment shown by so many riders signing up before the end of last season was just fantastic, and over the last few weeks interest has gone sky high," he said.

Ducati's 848 Challenge will be run as a supporting event at the British Superbike Championship rounds in 2011.
