Riders in Honda motorcycle leathers the ones to beat
Riders in Honda motorcycle leathers were the ones to watch on the first day of the MotoGP test in Malaysia.
All the riders eagerly took to the Sepang circuit in their motorcycle clothing yesterday (February 1st) to test Ohlins suspension systems and other new parts for the 2011 season.
But it was the Repsol Honda team that looked the strongest, with all three riders, Casey Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa dividing the testing responsibilities between them to make solid progress.
Former Ducati rider Stoner said he was very happy with the outcome of the first day of testing.
"In the next two days we will start testing something new but for me, it was a very good way to come back on track after the winter break," he said.
Honda's satellite team, San Carlos Gresini, also performed well. Marco Simoncelli in particular was fast, as he is riding with a factory engine on his bike this year.
