Nicky Hayden pleased with progress, but wants more
Ducati rider Nicky Hayden believes his team has made some important steps forward after putting his motorcycle leathers on for the first time in 2011.
The American rider finished the second day of the session with lap times a second quicker than his best from day one, having tested new parts and updated Ohlins forks.
However, Hayden revealed that there are still some problems to work on, and the gap between Ducati and Yamaha and Honda is still too big.
"I had a problem with vibration, and we spent a lot of time working to eliminate that. We're going in the right direction, and we just need to keep taking small steps," said the Texan.
Teammate Valentino Rossi is also having some problems - mostly with his injured shoulder.
The Italian is still recovering from surgery on the joint, and has admitted that he is not able to push at full capacity as the shoulder still causes him pain.
