Ohlins forks helping Valentino Rossi's corner speed
Valentino Rossi has declared himself pleased with his Ducati, with the Ohlins forks helping the machine to corner better.
The Italian rider has been off the pace set by Honda and Yamaha in pre-season testing sessions, but has been working hard on the settings for his Ohlins forks to try and carry more speed in corners.
By the end of the first free practice session, Rossi had set the fifth-fastest time on tyres which were 19 laps old, and was just a tenth of a second from the second-quickest rider.
"We modified the setup a little compared to the test and we immediately found it to be better … although we still have to improve some more things on the bike, now I don't have to push so hard and it is turning better," he said.
Rossi is going into his first season with Ducati after seven years, four titles and 46 race wins at Yamaha.
