The rookie sensation of this year's MotoGP Marc Marquez has helped Repsol Honda dominate the Sunday racing at Circuit of The Americas near Austin.

Reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo - helped by a last-minute change of ratio in second gear - finished three seconds behind Marquez.

Valentino Rossi's crew chief Jeremy Burgess had to watch as his charge could only finish sixth and said: "It's as though the Hondas have electric suspension; in corners, they just squat and shoot out of the corner."

Ohlins technician Jon Cornwell told Cycle World that often great riders are first to exploit the overlooked potential of new technology and it seems that Honda have a guy in Marquez who can do what it takes to get the most out of the conditions.

He seemed to push from the very first moment, eating up apex rumblestrips with the back wheel always on the limit during braking to take the flag.
